Based in March 4, 1827 on the campus of Union College in Schenectady, New York, USA, the Sigma Phi Society is the 2nd-oldest Greek social fraternal organization in the United States.
Founders: Charles Thorne Cromwell of Mosquito Cove, Future York, Thomas Fielders Bowie & his brother, John Thomas Bowie, each of Upper Marlboro, Maryl&, and Thomas Sydenham Witherspoon of Greensboro, Alabama. A share of the emblematical Union Triad.
